Friday

Welcome, adventure to the wild! We are leaving Warsaw, the country’s capital, at noon the latest.
Our destination, the region of the Bialowieski National Park, is just some 3 hours north east of Warsaw by car. After checking in at the wooden guesthouse and resting after the transfer, we have lunch – first chance for you to try regional and traditional Podlasie cuisine, famous for dishes influenced by Eastern cuisine, often with mushrooms, potatoes, herbs and local vegetables as well as meat of animals from local forests.
Next we head to the forest with our guide who will start to disclose its secrets for you, along evening beaver tracking.
Region of Bialowieza is worldwide famous for its best-preserved fragments of the natural forest characterized by great richness of species, trees of different ages, growing here in many layers and natural “chaos”, and an abundance of dead wood coexisting here. On a large scale, natural biological processes still take place here, which enable the gradual renewal of the forest without human intervention. The forest is also a home to many endangered mammals like lynx or wolves, and due to its ornithological values, the Białowieża Primeval Forest is a European refuge for birds.
In the evening we dine at a local restaurant. Also, you may wish to enjoy the sauna afterwards (optional and not included) if you want to make the most of your visit to Podlasie.

Saturday

The day will be packed with emotions! At dawn after only a sip of coffee we start tracking bison at their breakfast in the wild. Our local guide and environmental expert will tell us all about bison behavior, history of its extinction and bring back to life the Bialowieza population, teach us how to differentiate male and female and much more. Once we spot the herd, you will have some time to observe the king of the forest and take pictures.

After breakfast and some rest, we continue to explore the primeval forest (outside of the national park). Parts of this area have not seen major human intervention for over 100 years. A light hike will allow you to discover the richness of the forest: from rare fungi, protected beetles (like pachnica), birds (like sóweczka owl). We will also try to spot tracks of large mammals (foxes, lynx, or wolves).

After lunch, we will stay in the forest but this time we’ll explore it in a more comprehensive manner – on bikes, we will discover the forest’s many different forms and how it coexists with nearby villages and their beautifully painted wooden architecture. Endorphins from sports are a great bonus!

In the evening, hopefully tired and happy, it is time to dine like locals do. You will try the finest local cuisine dishes like solyanka soup or Russian pelmeni. The unique wooden architecture and the charming interior of the restaurant add flavors to the evening. Before sleep, we invite you for a local beer or liqueur tasting and slideshow of pictures presenting Bialowieza forest at different seasons and stories about primeval forest history.

Sunday

Time to catch a breath! The surrounding silence and majesty of the forest offers a great opportunity to relax in the sun. But you may as well want to continue bike exploration to see examples of the oldest oaks, some of them almost 500 years old and visit the semi natural animal reserve where you may see elks, lynx, wild boars and roe deer among others.
On the way back to Warsaw you will take a brief look at a few more characteristic places of the region. Northeast Poland is one of the most ecologically dense and sparsely populated regions of Poland where many natural areas are protected. Historically it has been a cultural and national mosaic and you may still feel this spirit in some places: like in the colorful Land of Open Shutters or wooden Orthodox churches we will pay a short visit.
On the way you will also see a true stork festival living here in large numbers and nesting in every village! In Podlasie, spring awakening is truly magical, with its picturesque flowery meadows and the scent of nature awakening.
Our trip will slowly come to an end with a late lunch in Tykocin, famous for its Jewish synagogue and brief look at the splendid Narew riverbank.

Friday

We are leaving Warsaw, the country’s capital, at noon at the latest. When we arrive at our destination and check into our guesthouse, we have lunch and head straight for our first adventure: evening elk tracking. This majestic animal is a symbol of the area. The Biebrza Valley is the largest habitat of this species in Poland. There are about 1,400 individuals living here. On our guided tour, we will try to spot those clumsy giants in bushes and marshes in the Biebrza valley. Evening is the time when the males start their mating roars – if we fail to spot these beautiful mammals – we will surely hear them.

Our evening ends with a local dinner that may surprise you with a richness of flavors of traditional cuisine recipes such as dumplings stuffed with venison or blueberries, potato cake with mushroom sauce, and various kinds of local fish. We end with a liqueur tasting next to the fireplace. Tomorrow we start at sunrise!

Saturday

Let’s visit another local animal – the beaver. For that, we jump onto a catamaran at dawn and, guided by our local guide, attempt to spot beavers at their breakfast – before they hide for the day.

After breakfast in a local restaurant, we continue to discover the secrets of the largest national park in Poland. One of the highlights will be hiking in the marshy areas – your guide will provide you with special shoe covers and you will follow in the footsteps of moose and wolves. It’s a really amazing feeling to be so close to nature. Continuing our tour of the park, we will try to see the cranes preparing for departure. Maybe you will be able to observe them dancing?

In the evening there is something special to help you feel the majesty of this animal and bird refuge – a balloon ride over the river (optional, extra fee). The last pleasure of the day is chatting over tasty meals in a cozy restaurant.

Sunday

Now it’s time to change perspective and hop aboard a canoe. We will take a 3 hour river canoe excursion to see water life up close, especially birds, and to relax. And on the way back, we will have lunch and stop for pictures of several picturesque places.

The trip ends in Warsaw, see you next time!

Straight from Warsaw we go to Podlasie, the most ecological region of Poland located in the north-west part of Poland. On the way we stop to visit the stork village Pentowo, a summer house for numerous white storks traveling each year to Poland to nest and breed.

Later we check in to Kiermusy wooden guesthouse, where after a short break to relax, we meet our guide, eat dinner and spend the evening watching pictures of the regional flora and fauna.

The tour begins in the morning with a transfer to Narew, one of the longest and most scenic rivers in Poland. During our catamaran trip, we will be looking for beavers, who are active during this time of the day. Following your return and breakfast, you will explore the Biebrza marshes. Put on your boots and let’s go! You will also find elk and wolf tracks. This area protects vast fenlands with a variety of plants, rare wetland birds, and mammal species such as elk and beavers. Biebrza wetlands, as well as the Narew River valleys, are major bird nesting, feeding, and resting sites.

In the evening – a sunset over the distant horizon seen from the balloon. Biebrza marshes and Polish Amazon – Narew seen from the sky leave us with unforgettable memories (balloon flight is optional and not included).

Among the most memorable ways to explore the river is to sail special platforms, sort of small boathouses. The free-flowing nature of a heavily meandering river enables one to navigate all day long, stop for rest in tranquil corners, and take in the natural life of the river and its inhabitants. You will end the day at the firecamp.

Transfer up North to Suwalszczyzna, where the post-glacial landscape is more rich in hills and lakes. After checking in at the cozy guesthouse by the lake, you may rest and enjoy the sun and silence.

Time to explore the symbol of Suwalszczyzna and one of the biggest and most beautiful of Polish lakes – Wigry, surrounded by stunning forests. Best way to feel the spirit of the region is an all-day bicycle trip around the lake. During the day, you can also relax and swim in the lake by the wild beaches. Our guide will show us the unique nature of the Wigry National Park.

We continue our active approach to holidays. Today you will discover Czarna Hańcza, a magnificent wild river. Canoeing will be your source of endorphins today. It’s a pleasant way to work your muscles, catch some sunshine, and relax in nature.

Last moments to relax before we head back to Warsaw.

Friday

Located in the south of Poland, Jura Krakowsko-Częstochowska is a truly picturesque limestone highland with numerous caves and historic castles. The tour begins at the Ogrodzieniec Castle in Podzamcze – the largest Jura castle, built on the highest hill within the Cracow-Czestochowa Uplands.

After check-in, you will meet with the instructor who will introduce you to safe climbing before heading to your first climbing session.

In the evening a bit of well deserved relaxation in a luxurious hotel in the heart of natural Jura landscape – with dinner and spa zone for the evening.

Saturday

Let’s rock! After breakfast we are heading to the rocks. Our instructors will take care of your safety and will pick the appropriate rock climbing routes for you. The length varies from a few meters to even 20 meters. The training requires some physical strength – climbing has multiple advantages to your body and health: increases strength and grip, improves balance and burns calories. But it is also a powerful exercise for your mind. It helps with problem solving and can significantly boost your confidence. It may bring a deeper sense of relaxation and calm that comes from being close to nature.

Then finish the day at the firecamp or hotel spa

Sunday

Your third day of climbing – time to challenge your weaknesses, as muscles might have already tired after an intense Saturday. A final test for your newly accomplished skills and a last chance to load your batteries.

You may also want to combine your last training with a walk and visit to a nearby medieval castle’s ruins – the landscapes here are marvelous.

In the afternoon we return to Krakow or Warsaw.

Friday

Is it snowy and cold? Welcome to wintry Poland! Straight from Warsaw (pick up at the airport or from your hotel), we head to our destination – Bialowieza. First you check in in a beautiful wooden guest house in the heart of the primeval forest where you may have some rest after the transfer.

After lunch we begin to discover the Bialowieza village, starting from the visit to the Nature Museum.

In the evening you will have a traditional welcome dinner in the local restaurant and may end up the evening with a glass of mulled wine at the fireplace.

Saturday

Meeting bison in the wild is easy at breakfast… – his breakfast! And that is at the dawn! That is why we start the day early enough to drive to the different parts of the forest where the herd may decide to start their day – guided by local environmental experts, we are in safe hands to spot them and take some nice pictures.

After breakfast at the guest house and some rest, you transfer with our guide to the Strict Reserve of Bialowiezza National Park – the oldest and the most protected part of the primeval forest, accessible only with licensed guides. Light trekking takes some 3 hours during which you will find out the history of Bialowieza and key information about forest fauna and flora.

In the afternoon – it is your free time to enjoy walks in the village and the surrounding silence. Regardless of its popularity among nature lovers from all around the world, Bialowieza remains a small and quiet village, that may seem like the end of the world in winter…

For dinner, you will visit the most charming and prestigious restaurant in the region, Tsarska, located in the renovated old tsarist railway station – great cuisine and stunning historical interior.

Sunday

In the morning you will discover the European Bison Showcase Reserve – apart from European bison – the biggest European mammal, you will see other rare animal species like elks, lynx, wild boars, roe deer living in a semi-natural environment. After the walk we check out and head back to Warsaw. On the way you will visit multicultural magic places of the region: the Land of Open Shutters, few colorful Orthodox churches, or the Narew river bank – depending on the weather conditions.
